VRF Scholar wins an award!

Shoutout to our newest PhD Scholarship recipient, Sirithi Medagoda, who received an award at the HealtheX 2025 Conference last week!

Sirithi received the FMHS-Postgraduate Student Association Second Runner Up Elevator Pitch Presentation Award for her presentation on Developing novel molecular and polygenic risk predictors for ophthalmological diseases across trans-ethnic populations.

Her supervisors, Dr William Schierding and Prof. Helen Danesh-Meyer, and the team at VRF are so proud of her.
